Ingredients


  • 2 tuna steaks (170 grams each)

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3-4 garlic cloves, smashed

  • Handful of fresh basil leaves

  • 2 cups green peas

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • Few fresh mint leaves

  • Optional: lemon wedges



Steps


Season the tuna steaks with salt and pepper. Let them sit until they reach room temperature.

Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium-high. Add garlic and basil to infuse the oil.

Cook the tuna steaks in the skillet. For a pink center, 1-2 minutes per side. For well-done, cook longer.

Boil green peas until tender, then drain.

Melt butter in another skillet. Add peas, salt, and mint. Cook briefly.

Remove mint leaves and smash the peas to your liking.

Rest the cooked tuna steaks for a few minutes, then slice.
